After College Life – Water Cooler ep5 part1

Beautifully shot, edited, and directed, the first Water Cooler of the year at Globesville has arrived! Production Team Leader Andre Doughty grills the crew on “Post Graduate Life”.

  • Randa has a friend of a friend telling her to give him a call when she’s done
  • Olivia wants to be an actress but is realistic enough to know that film/television might have to do, “That realm” she says.
  • David has no idea and throws biology majors under the bus.
  • Katherine, an accomplished grad student only had not being a “street bum” as her measure of post grad success.

NO ONE has any plans to move out. We hear stories of friends who live in Manhattan studio apartments for $200/month each (privacy not included), mom and dad having to prepare for the long haul more-or-less, and summer camp stories from the moderator himself. Randa has legitimate first world problems, she says two if everyone has their own room but how many people can you imagine living with? Or better yet, how little money do you have? (No one seems particularly terrified of STAYING with their parents, culture shift in real-time).

Randa steals Andre’s thunder in asking “Where else would you live?” everyone except Randa would be open to moving from the all powerful New York. Colorado, Los Angeles, and anywhere are apparent candidates. What is it actually like out there? With areas such as Brooklyn, Harlem, and surprise! Long Island City (to name a few) entering an actionable stage of their makeovers why can we still barely afford them? Why would we still have to “Wait and live with four or five other people” to live in DOWNTOWN Manhattan?

Kesha’s Toothpaste & Britney’s Odor – Pop Goes the Culture ep1

Globesville’s resident Pop Culture Enthusiast Brendan McLaughlin has arrived in the pilot for his new show “Pop Goes the Culture”. The YouTube music awards premiered this past week. Held inside a warehouse at New York’s Pier 36, the show was hosted by movie star Jason Shwartzman and the multi-talented Reggie Watts. The show was completely unscripted and featured performances by Arcade Fire, Lady Gaga, and Eminem among others. The bizarre highlight of the show was Lady Gaga’s performance of her new single “Dope” during which she wept uncontrollably. Knowing Gaga this actually wasn’t too strange, but her outfit was another story. Clad in a lumberjack flannel and baseball cap Gaga performed with no pants on…yes, none at all. Kanye West postponed dates on his long awaited Yeezus Tour due to a crash of one of his equipment buses. The bus housed a sixty foot screen as well as another LED screen needed for the performance, thus the cancellation of dates in Vancouver, Minneapolis, Anaheim, and Denver. Regarding the equipment Kanye reportedly told his people “Central to the creative vision, it is impossible to put on the show”. Performer Kesha is banned from performing in the country of Malaysia. Malaysian government officials say that her live performances go against the country’s religious beliefs, Brittney Spears is back with a new album titled “Brittney Jean” coming in December. The ‘Oops I Did it Again’ singer released a single from that album titled “Perfume” that is a reflection of her career to this point, including her hazardous relationships. This will be Spears eighth studio album.

The man, the legend Joe Dash, Globesville’s Content Manager reports this week from the quad for the NYIT Old Westbury BBQ in his Glocal Minute.

Speaking to us from the other side of a cheese burger, sausage and peppers, and a hotdog (which he eats fearlessly on camera, multiple times…with slow motion…and sound effects) it looks if nothing else, delicious.
